This early string quartet of Mozart is highly effective in transcription for clarinet quartet. The highlight of the four-movement work is the beautiful slow movement. Original keys and range have been maintained throughout this transcription. The piece would make an excellent addition to the repertoire of an established quartet; young players could use one or more of the movements as excellent practice in ensemble playing.
